Woman Strangled, Buried Near Cistern
I don't think this is a repost, despite being a few weeks old. If it is, I apologize. Couldn't find anything, though. Some poor schmuck of a dirt farmer was raking the patch of dirt near a cistern on his property, because he thought the area looked disturbed. Imagine his surprise (or not-this IS Brazil) when he digs a bit and finds the body of a recently-missing 20 year old girl buried in the hole. He called in the police and they were able to identify her quite quickly. She'd been missing for 4 days. Apparently, she'd gotten mixed up with an escaped convict. One mean hombre, at that. Originally sentenced to prison on assault and murder charges involving decapitating a cab driver over a fare dispute, he'd done all of two years when he murdered his cell mate for having bad body odor. They chucked him into the maximum security area with the other hard cases, but he didnt like his new cellmate there either. When the guards took the report after e'd beaten his new cellmate to death, he told them it was because the guy's ears stuck out too far and it made him nervous. Well, apparently he slipped the screws and escaped the prison altogether in November. The article was unclear about his relationship with this decedent, if he even had one. But either way, he wound up choking her to death with his bare hands and then burying her in Farmer Felipe's field. He was 'captured' and shotgunned to death by bounty hunters 8 days later. But it didn't do much for this poor broad, whom he choked out and dropped in the hole.  ·  ·  ·  · |

Wonder if he murdered more in that area. also wonder how many more women are missing in that area. Too bad he wasn't captured sooner but glad he's dead now |

Yeah, they never bode well in Brazil. But even so, this one was just about the worst I've ever read. Reading over his arrest record and prison behavior reminded me of that scene in Blazing Saddles where they're auditioning for villains. "Qualifications?" "Rape, murder, arson and rape" "You said rape twice." "I like rape!" "You'll do." |

Well at least the bounty hunters cleaned up the garbage. I bet that is a high paying and exciting job in Brazil.

At least the murderer is dead now
