Re: Woman Killed by Surgeon Boyfriend
Of interest--The adipose (fat) tissue of a normal, live healthy person is usuaally kind of a pale pinkish color. Now, if I remember correctly: Red blood cells live about 2 1/2 to 3 months. When red blood cells die, they are flushed through the system in a healthy live person, but if not, jaundice sets in. Severe trauma can cause massive amounts of broken red blood cells, which also can cause jaundice in a person who lived awhile after severe blunt trauma. That's one of the reasons blood tests are done so often--to check chemistries of our organ systems and measure amounts of wastes in our blood, amongst many other things. Also, I think the yellow can be also be from bile pigments--if say, the gall bladder or any of the ducts from liver to gall bladder was blocked, ruptured or pierced before death, and the person remained alive long enough to get THAT jaundiced. Any Docs or Bio majors feel free to add and correct as needed. We're in class again! haha |
