Victim was shot in the head -- Consolacion police
CEBU CITY, Philippines – Police have yet to identify the woman, who was found dead shortly after 7 a.m. on Thursday, August 12, 2021, in a grassy area in Purok Dagundong, Barangay Panas in the town of Consolacion in northern Cebu.
Police Senior Master Sergeant Ramon Chinel, desk officer of the Consolacion Police Station, said no one had so far claimed the body nor identified the victim who succumbed to a gunshot wound in her head.
Chinel said that the woman had an estimated height of 5 feet and two to three inches, and was estimated to be around 25 to 30 years of age.
The victim also has tattoos on his (sic) back and chest.
The woman was wearing a black sleeveless top and a pair of yellow short pants when she was found lying face down by residents in the barangay.
Chinel said the victim could have been dumped in the area, but he also emphasized that there was a huge possibility that she was killed there considering that they found five slugs at the crimes.
He also said that there is a possibility the body was already there since evening, and that it was later on found by the residents Thursday morning.
Investigators are still conducting further investigation so as to identify the assailants as well as determine the motive behind the killing.
