An unidentified woman believed to be between 20 and 35 was discovered dead at around 10:30am on September 22, 2022, in mangrove roots in the Tamarindo estuary at Santa Cruz, Guanacaste, Costa Rica. A witness cited by Guananoticias said she had appeared disoriented while walking around Tamarindo since the day before. Lifeguards reportedly brought her out of the water twice that afternoon, but she returned each time. Estuary boatmen located her body the following morning, and judicial investigators removed it. Her identity and cause of death were never made public.

A woman, whose identity is still unknown, was found dead this September 22, at 10:30 am, in the Playa Tamarindo estuary in an area that borders Playa Grande.

According to information from witnesses, the female, between 20 and 35 years old, apparently of foreign origin, wandered the streets of Tamarindo disoriented since the previous day.

"Yesterday afternoon some lifeguard boys pulled her out of the water twice, but she went back into the sea again and later in the morning we found her dead among the roots of the estuary," said a witness who requested anonymity.

Boteros who work at the site contacted the Judicial Investigation Agency to proceed with the removal of the body.
