Off the ground so no carnivore eatery for nature. But the blowflies still have direct access. Eww.

Re: Woman Found Dead in Her Hammock

I've had this one saved on FB for over a week, but have a huge backlog at the moment + just don't have the time to do them!

Here's the longwinded translation that didn't really give anything helpful:

Quote:
A 57-year-old woman was lying on a hammock by fainting,,,,

(Kampong Thom Province): Stoung District Thursday, the year 2563, was born on March 26, 2020 and died on March 26, 2020.

The incident occurred: March 26, 2020 at 12.15am at Trach Village, Pong Chin Cheng Commune, Stueng District, Kampong Thom Province.

According to an affidavit from Kang Kan, the 54-year-old brother of the deceased, his brother, Kang, 57, is a neurologist. Long ago, away from home, do not know where and drink. By March 23, 2020, Miss Kang Sam had gone out of her house until 26 March 2020, 13. 20 minutes later, it was reported that a woman had died in Rolous village, Banteay Stung commune, and was actually visiting her brother Kang Sam.

Commenting on the names of 14-year-old Sang Nath and 13-year-old Sim Siam in Roluos village, Banteay Stung commune, Stung district, on March 26, 2020 at about 8.00 am Visiting the cows just north of Rolous village, I saw a woman lying on a hammockWhen Hok Ley's hut was interrogated, he replied, "It is crazy .In the evening, they go out to find a cow in the hammock and say they are thirsty. And a cake, and bring it home. By March 26, 2020, at about 8.00 am, the children were on a motorbikeUm, she bought 2000 riel and 1 bottle of water and returned home. It was about 12.00 noon when Pipai, a male in the same village, told that a grandmother who had been sleeping in the hut had died and suddenly they and the villagers came to see her. Yes, he was lying on a hammock.

Stung District Police, in cooperation with local authorities, commune chiefs, and health center staff of Banteay Stung commune, visited the scene to examine the body without any trace of murder. Not at all.

Conclusions: The victim's death was caused by a single cause of death.

After the examination, the body was handed over to Kang Kan's brother for traditional ceremony.

Real helpful...I wonder how she could have died. She looks kind of malnourished but maybe that's just because of her age.

Cambodian translations are usually garbled nonsense, this one was one of the better ones I've come across - though it's still not great! Cambodian reports usually cite the death being due to either 'fainting' or 'the wind'! Which you can usually just take as being a heart attack.

Re: Woman Found Dead in Her Hammock

Possibly just took a rest in her hammock and had a heart attack. Not a horrible way to go.

She doesn’t look malnourished or starving.

Re: Woman Found Dead in Her Hammock

She was pretty for an old one. (Or for anyone, overall.)

If she did just doze off and die, I wouldn't mind that death for myself, when it's my time - even if that didn't rule out going in my 40s, as opposed to knowing I'd die at 78 in excruciating agony over months on end.

Well of course, we in the civilised world got there first. English death lists nearly half a millennium ago listed 'causes' of death as a most obvious symptom, or just an effect - such as 'wind', 'cough' or 'suddenly'.

Though back to the lady - look at her head lolling from the hammock. She moved. Maybe she felt it after all.
