Young Woman Murdered and Dumped

Police responded quickly to a complaint call about gunshots in the area on Friday night. When they arrived on the street where the shots originated, the body of a woman was lying dead on the sidewalk. Her shirt was pulled up and one of her shoes was off.

Initial reports on the news said that she had been shot five times. In actuality, however, the shots were fired into the air (corroborated by witnesses) by two men who were pulling her curled-up body out of the back of an SUV and dumping it on the sidewalk.

It was later determined that her body showed signs of beating and death by strangulation, but no bullet wounds. She was estimated to have been dead less than 2 hours when her body was dumped.

Note: If you try to research this case for more photos or details, please note that about 95% of the reports online are incorrect, merely being cut/paste reposts of the initial (flawed) report. I spoke personally to two witnesses and a reporter on the scene and she was NOT shot 5 times, as initially reported. The casings were found nearby, but the shots were all into the air. The woman was beaten and strangled; she had no bullet impacts and there was no blood at the scene.

She was 25 years old and has been identified, but her name has not yet been released. Unofficial reports say that she had ties to a drug gang.
