Woman Bound, Strangled, and Dumped in Vacant Lot
This 27 year old woman was discovered this week, lying face down in a vacant lot. Her ankles were bound with tape and she was also gagged with the same adhesive. She was knocked around a few times and then slowly strangled to death with a length of chain, based on the pattern of the ligature mark. Her body presented all of the usual signs of death by asphyxiation Initially her boyfriend, who went missing the same night, was the primary suspect. It is assumed that they had a fight and he strangled her and went on the lam. Police spent about 16 hours looking for him before discarding that theory. Theory was junked when he was also found dumped by the side of the road, bound, tortured, and with two bullets in the head. No motive for the double homicide has been established, but drugs are a good bet based on the area.  ·  ·  ·  ·  ·  · |

In many cases, they're right to do so.  'Crimes of passion' are more common than Cartel hits down there.
