there was a French/Iranian movie made only a few years ago called The Stoning of Suraya M. True story set in the early 80s during the time the idiotic Ayatolla was in power. A woman who was sick of her husband's loose behavior and disrespect in her refused him the usual marital fun and so he decided he wanted to marry a 14 year old instead and planned to force her into a divorce. She refused as part of the deal was to have her as a kept woman of the local holy man. So he set her up and accused her of being unfaithful, to which the punishment was stoning. She was executed in the end in what must've been an indescribable way to die, but her auntie who was on her side told the story to a passing french journalist and how the town leaders covered up lies about her guilt.The story went global and brought attention to the world about the practice. A very strong movie about a most horrible, primative and disgusting form of 'justice' which unfortunately still goes on in those backward regimes.

it's completed fucked the way they justify this shit. If a woman is raped, they stone the woman because she is used goods. Stoning consists of putting the person chest deep in the ground and they basically throw large stones at the person until they kill them. If they can get themselves out of the ground before being killed they get to live. Fucked up!
