Waxy Feel
Adipocere is a decomposition process seen with immersions or damp, warm environments. The neutral fats are converted to oleic, palmitic, and stearic acids. Note the white/tan-colored adipocere, which has a waxy feel. In some areas you can see a light sheen of oil on the surface. Once formed, adipocere is resistant to further decomposition. click pic to view larger image |

Re: Waxy Feel
Images of death don't bother me, but then I think of the smell and I start to cringe, one whiff and I would definitely blow chunks. Nice find by the way. |
