If a person has a way to avoid or leave the situation,then self defense is not justifiable and it will be very hard to beat in court.At least thats how it is here in CT even though we have 'stand your ground laws’ its different if you are in your own dwelling and you have family or friends that you choose to protect but it is a P.I.A to prove justifiable self defense with deadly force.
