~ Being a professional lumberjack I think he impulsively practiced with the chainsaw, turned off, before he decided to carry out the final deed.
~ It would not be an easy task to do without relentless determination.
~ And, I don't think he wanted to harm his handsome lumberjack face by doing it thru the front of his head/neck, which would then mean he regretted his proud professional lumberjack career, & which was probably the only thing that kept him from killing himself.
~ He truly had mental health issues, how sad.

That's an autopsy table and medical examiners use ladles to remove and measure stomach contents, blood from thoracic cavity, etc.
