Unpaid Ransom Results in Dire End
24 year old girl was found buried this week. She'd been beaten and her pants were down just past her hips; sexual assault has not yet been confirmed or denied. Unfortunately, they also found dirt in her nose, mouth and throat, which means there was a very good chance that she was still alive and breathing when she was buried. They estimated she'd been dead less than an hour when she was discovered by a passerby seeing her hands sticking out of the dirt. It was determined a bit later that she'd been kidnapped the day before and her family could not afford the ransom.  ·  ·  ·  · |

With 10 more minutes to dig a deeper hole they would probably never found her (that fast) so really stupid to go digging and leave the hands sticking out unless they were disturbed by someone while digging.

She may have tried digging herself out and only broke her hands free before running out of oxygen/choking on the dirt/sand. |

You can almost see a slight look of relief on her face from her possibly digging her way out and feeling air on her fingers. Sadly it was just too late as she was unable to hold her breath any longer.
