Unidentified Woman Suffered Tortures of the Damned
The body of an unidentified woman presumed to be in her early 30's was discovered near a road in Mexico this week. Though neither her ID nor that of her killer are known, the police have indicated that she was not dead for long when her body was discovered. As you can see in the photos, the flesh has been stripped from her face and she has also been scalped. Further, (though less evident in the poor quality images) all of her fingers have been flayed down to the bone. The cause of death, however, was by gunshot to the chest. Chillingly and horrifyingly, it has also been reported that the disfiguring injuries were inflicted antemortem. The skin was removed from her face and her fingers while she was still alive and struggling; the mercy of the gunshot only came later in the process. No idea what she could have done to warrant such torture. Clearly, the removal of her face and fingerprints also serves the purpose of making her hard to ID. Not a common MO for the Cartels, who usually prefer their victims to convey a message. But anything's possible. I'll try and update here if I get more information about the incident. Sorry the pics are crap. Tough to get good quality images from Mexico these days. The hi-res stuff tends to be fiercely watermarked and hard to find anyway. Have to make due with these. |

I guess that's one way to get a cheap face lift in Mexico. |

Re: Unidentified Woman Suffered Tortures of the Damned
I just watched Criminal Minds or some show like it and there was a serial killer that the cartels and organized gangs in the U.S. would contract to take out people and he would remove the faces like that. Not the same torture but similar. The thing is with the gratuitious violence caused by the cartels it would be easy for a little while for a serial killer to get away with his crimes. I imagine the cartels would take offense and probably go after him at some point but I was just hypothesizing |

Never thought about it that way before, but you're right. I guess any brutal crime like this would first and foremost be placed at the door of the Cartels. Mind you, I bet they have a few members who are now serial killers in a sense. (Not sure of the definitive meaning)
