Las mujeres tenían al menos 12 horas de haber muerto. Estaban recargadas sentadas en la pared una con otra. Junto a ellos habían dos jeringas y un cordón elástico, por lo que desde el principio se manejó como versión la sobredosis de droga. Aunque no tenían señales de tortura o de heridas, CJ si tenía un hematoma en la nariz, pero no se confirmó que fuera reciente. Ya en la autopsia que se realizó en Guasave las autoridades de la Procuraduría encontraron indicios de que puede tratarse no de un asunto de drogas sino de un homicidio. Y es que los dos cuerpos tenían las uñas de las manos y pies, además de los labios tenían una coloración azul que indica asfixia por sofocamiento, es decir que las vías respiratorias fueron obstruidas sin que se diera estrangulamiento o inmersión de agua. Además la coloración del pulmón de las dos mujeres coincide con las señales de la asfixia. Here's the translation: "The women had been dead at leat 12 hours.
