15. may 2012, Mexico. The two young women were found leaning against a wall and with syringes and other tools for druginjection. They had been dead for at least 12 hours. The case was taken as an overdose at first, but autopsy shows that it might be a homicide. Blue lips and colour of the lungs indicated death by suffocation - obstructed airways without strangulation.

Las mujeres tenían al menos 12 horas de haber muerto. Estaban recargadas sentadas en la pared una con otra. Junto a ellos habían dos jeringas y un cordón elástico, por lo que desde el principio se manejó como versión la sobredosis de droga.

Aunque no tenían señales de tortura o de heridas, CJ si tenía un hematoma en la nariz, pero no se confirmó que fuera reciente.

Ya en la autopsia que se realizó en Guasave las autoridades de la Procuraduría encontraron indicios de que puede tratarse no de un asunto de drogas sino de un homicidio.

Y es que los dos cuerpos tenían las uñas de las manos y pies, además de los labios tenían una coloración azul que indica asfixia por sofocamiento, es decir que las vías respiratorias fueron obstruidas sin que se diera estrangulamiento o inmersión de agua.

Además la coloración del pulmón de las dos mujeres coincide con las señales de la asfixia.

There were syringes and a rubber band (probably to tie off the arm).The bruise on the nose might not be from the incident. It's said that the airways were obstructed as in strangulation or drowning. The coloration of the lungs coincide with signs of asphyixia.
But please correct me if I'm wrong.

No, I'm pretty sure that it gets the meaning correct. But I was thinking of those who want to have the medical terms exact - and hoped for some spanishspeaking user seeing the post
