I know Dawn but I went there with my Ex-wife to Cancun to a resort and it was perfectly safe. Of course there were armed guards outside the perimeter but there was NEVER an issue. We even went into Cancun with another couple without a problem.

I think she will be fine provided she goes to the right place and is smart. It's kind of like Jamaica where they tell you not to leave the resort. She would really have little reason to leave as they offer a ton of activities, bars, trips, etc.

Thank you B.K. I will keep your advise in mind concerning my final decision,but she just turned 18 so she can do what she want's in the end!it's nice to know though that they do offer protection! Again thank you!!
