Re: Two Sisters, 10 and 15 Yo, Drowned in a Pond
"Pond" does not necessarily mean "shallow". There are several ponds I can take you to on people's property that get as deep as 25ft at the deepest part, 10ft+ not far out from the bank. It would not be hard at all to drown in one if you weren't that proficient at swimming. Also, underwater weeds often get tangled around people's legs in ponds and lakes causing them to drown since they can't stay on the surface. This also could have been the case. |

Re: Two Sisters, 10 and 15 Yo, Drowned in a Pond
Some of us only have english as a foreign language. Of course I try to use the best word I know - or I use the one Google suggests (as is the case here as far as I remember). But I think it would be wise not to distinguish between subtle meanings of the words I think I know at least ten words in danish for "a hole (big or small) with water in it" - every one of them with a small difference in the meaning. But in english I maybe know two or three, which have to cover every imaginable waterhole (except pubs So the use of the words might not be as precise as you expect |
