Re: Two Headstones Were Found in the Yard of a House My Parents Own...
I think that's from the movie "Poltergeist". By the way, i'm curious, do things go bump in the night in the property? |

Nothing's ever been claimed, but who's to say the tenants won't associate household sounds that you wouldn't think otherwise of before as ghosts now?

Re: Two Headstones Were Found in the Yard of a House My Parents Own...
I agree: one looks like a military marker. And one does see them isolated (as opposed to in a "military section") in small cemeteries. Some guys I ride with on occasion (motorcycle) always make a point of stopping at those small cemeteries and making sure the veterans' graves are clean and in good order. Often, "pioneer" cemeteries are all but forgotten. But there is a lot of history there. I would assume that if there are burials there, they can be detected without digging everything up. However, if they were wooden coffins with no vault, chances are the ground would have long since merely sunken in, as you referred to, and there might not be anything to detect. A good metal detector MIGHT a coffin plate or handles, if they ever existed. |
