Re: Traumatic Dismemberment Crossing the Street
This happened in Charleston, SC. I was working this wreck. She was on the back of a motorcycle on the elevated part of I-26 near Rutledge Avenue. The guy driving the bike lost control and hit the guard rail at nearly 90 mph. She was thrown nearly 200' and was obliterated by the old metal rails that used to be in the middle of the roadway. There is a 6 foot concrete barrier there now. Lots of gore splashed everywhere. The guy died as well but he was transported the Medical University of South Carolina where he died in the ER. She was killed instantly. Lots of ETOH and drugs on board but I still think it hurt. |

Re: Traumatic Dismemberment Crossing the Street
I was on a bus from NY to NJ and it had to make a detour through Ridgefield Park to get to the Armory. I heard on the news later tat 2 girls, instead of walking a mere 100 ft to the footbridge to cross Route 95, decided to run across the road itself. They got hit! Traffic had to be diverted while the ambulance police & so on, went about their duties. Both died. |
