Three South African Extortionists Shot Dead in Shootout With Police
Three suspected extortionists were gunned down, and four more were injured, during a shootout with police in the Bothasig area of Cape Town. A provincial police spokesman said that a South African Police Service combat team reacted on information that seven occupants of a minibus taxi were extorting money from shop owners in Du Noon. The spokesman said when police arrived at the scene on Wednesday afternoon, the suspects fled the area. During a pursuit, the suspects opened fire at two police vehicles with an assault rifle. The police retaliated, and ultimately managed to hit all the extortionists before they brought the vehicle to a halt. The assault rifle, a 9mm pistol, an undisclosed amount of cash, and the minibus were confiscated. Neither the police, nor any members of the public, were injured in the pursuit.        |

5.56? I'll not claim to be an expert and I may be wrong but I doubt it. 7.62x39, I can perhaps believe that but then again, the brain is in such a good condition that I'm confused What's this big mineral/concrete looking chunk that seems to be covered in tempered glass laying on the guy near his head?. I suspect this has more to do with the state of his ... Mess |

This happened around 20km from my house. The SAPS use Vektor R4 and R5 rifles, the latter has a shorter barrel which is more suited as they can fit nicely between the guys legs as they respond in their cars, often firing out the window. These guys are termed the flying squad as they respond quickly and usually drive in BMW m135is, Golf GTIs etc. Not to be fucked with clearly

Looks like pretty good shooting by the police especially with the fact none of them were shot by the extortionists. |

Most any center-fire rifle .30 caliber and up can do that with the right load.
