They are a fighting breed so they clip them because in the long run they will most likely be torn off in a fight.Im not saying all pitbulls with clipped ears are for fighting,some people may just want that look.

Alot of pitbulls you see will have "Cropped" ears. Personally i believe pits look odd without their ears cut
