Re: There Is No God
Yeah, the video basically sums up my thoughts on the subject. I should point out that, on the matter of God, I'm an agnostic with strong atheist leanings; meaning, I don't know with certainty either way, but cold logic dictates that hard evidence of something need be adduced before one believes in it. Call me crazy. Frankly, I don't give the topic much thought at all. I really only contemplate and discuss it when inconsiderate, one-track-mind theists try to push their beliefs as fact. Normally, I have much more important, real-world things to think about. |

Re: There Is No God
If you already believe something does not exist, how much effort are you going to put in disproving it? Isn't saying "god does not exist" to some extent "Dishonest and absurd" as you put it.There's a 3% chance of a woman getting pregnant when the male partner uses the condom correctly, since the chances/odds are slim (as the chances of god existing) should we state "chance of getting pregnant is non existent"? For someone to believe in god, they have to believe 100% or it just does not work out spiritually and i accept that. Which is why i don't take time out of my day to mock people who believe in god with all of their hearts as you have with your thread. To me it just seems like |

Re: There Is No God
Do you have reading comprehension difficulties? I'm not going to keep repeating myself. I think I worded myself pretty well and have made it clear that God is not impossible but rather unlikely. You say that some people need to believe in God 100% for it to work - to believe anything 100% you need proof surely? Reality isn't something you get to choose... something can either be demonstrated as real or it is without merit. People who believe 100% that there is a God but have no reason to back this up have been brainwashed and i take pity on them. The biggest crime is that they go on to brainwash their kids... This is child abuse. |

Re: There Is No God
So what your saying is that the true crime is that people pass on their beliefs to their kids... I'm just relieved that you wont be passing your beliefs to your kids since you are against people passing their beliefs. Maybe what you should be concerned with is which group of people live happier lives rather then what they believe in. You want so badly for people to agree with what you are saying while i don't care what other people believe in as long as they are happy and are not causing harm to other people while pursuing their happiness. Learn to tolerate people and stop thinking you're somehow better then others (giving pity where pity is not needed) |

Re: There Is No God
I'm against that too, it's extreme. Just like there are extreme muslims.... i agree that is wrong because the child's brain which is not fully developed or capable of comprehending what religion is. They are forced to repeat phrases and act in certain ways with out having an understanding as to why. But not every christian, catholic, muslim etc.. is extreme. The way you're approaching this matter is wrong, your building hate and hate leads to more hate. If you feel so passionately about the children being raised with extreme views maybe you would like to remove kids from homes with extremely racist parents such as KKK members. Surely teaching hatred to kids is child abuse too. |
