Re: Teenager Hung Himself
He would have just taken his O-Net exams at the weekend, which decide which colleges etc he could attend. Maybe he thought he had done badly ?

Re: Teenager Hung Himself
This really is a cryin' shame. No one has to strangle themselves like this - that's a horrible way to go! If he'd have used the drop table, he could have calculated the correct long drop using his weight & height, have placed the noose under the left ear, kicked the chair (or whatever) that would have instantly snapped the 2nd cervical vertebra (called the "Hangman's Fracture") ending his life painlessly. Drop tables are ridiculously easy to come by. I found one on Wiki and to check up any Wiki nonsense, I actually found the original table in my copy of "Lord High Executioner: An Unashamed Look at Hangmen, Headsman and Their Kind" by Howard Engel. |

Re: Teenager Hung Himself
Speaking as a former suicide, I have to say that when you are thinking clearly, it's always easy to say, enough of this bullshit, I'll just start again tomorrow. When I was suicidal, the depression and pain was so bad that it was physical. I just wanted out. I was DOA at the hospital, and when I woke up there in the hospital I was so enraged at being alive that they put me in restraints. In many ways I'm still pissed. Dead is WONDERFUL. Anyway, I guess what I'm saying is that you've got to be in our moccasins to really understand. |

Re: Teenager Hung Himself
Sad. But there's almost always a reason, be it trivial or significant. A happy man does not wake up at 2 AM and decide that "enough is enough", unless he is under the influence of a mind-altering substance. Even those who are financially successful, they could be plagued with other hardships. I don't want to have to bring up Bourdain and Spade but I may as well. You can't tell a lonely, disgraced millionaire that wealth and fortune is everything. You can't tell a good-looking young man/woman that looks are everything. No matter how high you get, there you are. |
