Well said Black Knight. that's what they never think of. My brother in law blew his fucking brains out one afternoon in the familly home. Then the kids got home from school guess who got to find the selfish bastard. His own daughters. It has been several years now since it happened and their still fucked up. |

This is extremely common with hanging/asphyxiation deaths, even more than it is with other methods of demise. If you're seeing a photo of a hanging victim and their pants aren't wet, then it is likely because they had the forethought to go to the bathroom immediately before hanging themselves or, far more likely, the stains had already dried by the time the photo was taken. Cases like this one never cease to surprise me a little, though. It seems like every week (just between the US and UK, far more if you figure the entire world), some young teenage girl with self-esteem issues hangs herself because she was bullied, or she felt unloved, or she was depressed, etc. You read about cases like the one of the girl pictured here or Phoebe Prince, Megan Meier, or Hope Witsell and you just know that every one of them was found cold, tongue hanging out, and with soaking-wet pants. Yes, I realize that a suicidal teenager probably isn't consciously worrying about the state of their pants after death. But the fact is that hanging is the preferred method of so many depressed youths because it is 'easy', imminently available, and widely romanticized to be a clean, painless death. Of course, you only have to look at one of hundreds of hanging photos on this site alone to know that suicidal hanging is almost never clean or (judging by many expressions) painless. I have to assume, given a depressed, self-conscious teenage girl's reliance on image and appearance, that many of them might choose a different fate if they realized that they'd be painfully gasping for air and pissing or shitting their pants while they choke. And knowing that one of their parents/siblings/friends/ were going to find them in that state. Maybe it wouldn't prevent them from taking their own lives, but it might prompt them to find alternate (and less accessible) means. I dunno. I guess I'm just surprised, having seen literally hundreds (maybe thousands by now) of suicidal hanging photos, that more of them aren't concerned about what state their body is found in. For a teenage girl who is about to take her own life because she feels unaccepted or bullied, I just remain amazed that they go through with it, knowing they'll be found with an embarrassing mess in their pants. |

 this is so damn sad. Such a beautiful young girl with a full life ahead of her. It always puzzles me why a teenager feels this is their only option
