This case is sort of a clusterfuck. I've been following it and working on it for almost a week, hoping for the police to release any details at all, hoping for uncensored photos, or hoping for something to make sense in it. Nonetheless, I've got enough that I am going to post it. Just understand that about 75% of the pics are censored atm and the details of the case are a serious shambles. The case has remained active in the public eye since it occurred because a lot of protests and public complaints are getting launched at the police for not putting any effort into solving it.

So here are the actual facts as established in the limited amount of police reports made public:

This teen was consuming alcoholic beverages with several others, including another female teen friend and a somewhat older man. She posted a series of TikTok videos all night leading up to them getting drunk near a retaining wall at the local canal. Everyone in the videos seemed loose and relaxed and having a good time.

Around 8:45, roughly 30 mins after the last Tiktok video was posted, one of her friends called the girl's grandmother (her mother had died nine years ago and her father was off the scene, so she had been raised by gran most of her life) and told her that they had been assaulted and robbed by the river and that the girl was hurt and to call the police.

Police arrived on the scene fairly quickly and found the victim lying supine at the base of the retaining wall, about a 2.4 meter drop from the top. She was not moving and in an obvious state of distress or injury, so they made multiple efforts to resuscitate her, but she was pronounced dead at the scene.

That's about it for facts. Everything else is a whole host of internet theory, journalist interviews, witness reports, and limited leaked police information.

The friend who made the call to grandma was contacted by police the next morning and explained that the small group had been attacked by thieves trying to steal their booze and phones. The victim struggled with one of the robbers and was either pushed or accidentally fell over the wall and either smacked her skull or broke her neck.
The police statement indicated that the friend's report was 'suspicious' and that they were considered a person of interest, but no more was explained. They were unable to locate the 'older' man that was seen drinking with the teens in several of the videos.

Several of the victim's friends have come forward stating that the decedent and her friend were in contentious competition for the same boy. They postulated the theory that the friend set up the entire robbery thing in order to injure the victim or even have her killed.

In any case, the police have still not revealed a cause of death. There were hundreds of people at the scene when the police arrived and witness reports vary wildly. The fact that almost all of the photos are censored such that injuries cannot be determined is a pain in the ass for armchair crime scene enthusiasts like we have here.

There was no blood at the scene in any of the photos. The several witnesses I spoke with also all said that there was no blood. Two people who were present at the scene told me that her face looked very blue and several others, including one paramedic I spoke with via his FB account said that she exhibited multiple signs of strangulation. Hard to verify that though, since most images have her face and neck censored or are shot from the wrong angle.

Another paramedic and a different witness said that it looked like she died due to bronchoaspiration. She had no signs of falling injuries, but had been drinking heavily and they think she passed out and choked on her own vomit at the base of the wall. A plausible theory, I suppose, but very odd when taken into account with the stories about a struggle or an assault.

Pressure continues to be applied to the police by a large group of her friends, classmates, and other local activists, claiming that the cops are going to write it off that she got drunk and accidentally fell without doing a full investigation into the various suspicious circumstances.

Anyway, here are some pics. Mostly censored or watermarked, some clean. In many of the TikTok screengrabs you can see that she is wearing the clothes she died in later on that evening.

One personal observation that I found puzzling, though probably innocuous. In all of the antemortem pics and in most of the postmortem pics, she is wearing a pair of boots with black socks pulled up above the top. But in one of the few clear, uncensored postmortems, both the sock and the boot on her left foot have been removed and she is barefoot. I cannot hazard a guess as to why.

In closing, I have about 3 hours of video footage for this case, but it is literally ALL interview or speculative reporting taking place atop the wall. not a single shot of the body or the actual death scene anywhere, so I am saving the site some bandwidth and omitting them.

Will update the story if the police ever release an actual COD or autopsy result.

Yeah, that may have been the friend she was allegedly with. It wasn't clear and there was a shitload of argumentation among her friends and people from the area as to whether it was a fat gay boy, a fat transgender, a fat girl. A few people posted pics of that transgender kid you mentioned, but police have not confirmed that he/she (which I say because in half of the photos the subject is male presenting and half female presenting, so who the fuck knows) is even the other party involved.

Several people claimed it was the much larger fat girl standing near the body by the paramedic in my 10th photo.

It's a whole mess of speculation and accusation and nonsense. No wonder the keystone cops in VC can't figure out whether to shit or go blind.

Appreciate the encouragement, and it is an interesting case with some local attention. Alas, the fact that 75% of the pics are censored beyond comprehension takes it a notch or three below primo level for me. I'm dissatisfied with it due to photo quality, but it did take a lot of work to get what I could get, so I do earnestly appreciate your comments.

If the pics were better, it'd be a remarkable set.

I wonder if some crime scene/gore photographers censor the deceased merely due to family and friend request.

The process for finding this stuff has changed a lot over the years. The prevalence of cameras and social media has been something of a double-edged sword for this hobby.

On one hand, there's a ton more out there than there once was. But because of that, public backlash over sharing these photos (especially photos of women) has increased dramatically. So censorship is much more of an obstacle than it used to be. Many of the uncensored photos I have posted over the past couple of years were only obtained because I tracked down the photographers and either convinced or bribed them to privately share uncensored versions of the censored stuff they post to their public feeds. But there's a lot of resistance even then, with many being nervous about getting sued or hassled.

In terms of actually finding the content, the easiest way is to find actual journalists and follow their social media pages/feeds. Once upon a time, all of my searching was done via location keywords and specific keywords for different types of crimes in multiple languages. That's still a useful tool now and again, but not as much as it used to be.
