Well, either is good. The kind that has the granite base underneath should be set back about 5-6 inches to insure it doesn't topple forward into the grave. If you ever visit cemeteries and see the headstone leaning into the grave, that's usually what's going on. That or whoever dug the grave dug too far under the foundation, and it's no longer stable. With the one that are partially set into the soil, depending on their size, can be easier to deal with. One that's 3 feet tall needs to be buried up to 9 inches, maybe more. On a hill, the one that's partially buried seems to work best, on even ground I'd go with the granite base. Hope that helps some. |
