Suwan Hiranyaket Pulled Into Running Blower in Samut Prakan, September 6, 2013
Suwan Hiranyaket, a 51-year-old delivery driver, was killed at Sundus Industries in Samut Prakan, Thailand, on September 6, 2013, after he was pulled into a running industrial extraction blower. A crew at the repair and assembly warehouse was testing the 60-horsepower blower for a customer when Hiranyaket approached its intake and placed his hand and body in front of it to feel the airflow. The suction pulled him into the machine and severed his head, killing him instantly. He was not repairing the blower, and it did not start unexpectedly while he was working on it. His body was sent to the Institute of Forensic Medicine at Police General Hospital. Phra Pradaeng police investigated the company owner's potential liability. |

Don't think of it as losing a technician, think of it as gaining a cubicle...

Surely it must be an electricians 101, that you cut the power before working on any device. All he did here is create one problem by fixing another. Though he'll never get to learn the lesson, he definitely won't be doing that again. A1 post though. |
