Weird all the way around. If it is a murder, why not pick up the knife? But I also agree, the gun placement is not natural for a suicide. Therefore, something is staged one way or the other.

I think he was run of the road, he got out and there was a bit of a gun fight and he got it! Also i think there is a gunshot to the rear window of the car.

I don't know... That's an awfully awkward position to "land" in after you off yourself. Look how close his arms are to his sides, and how straight his legs are. It looks like he was placed there and maybe the gun put in his hand for good measure.
