I think he's right on this one.

I don't know about corneal transplants, but most other transplants (liver, heart, lungs, etc.) are denied to the mentally ill.

The medical & insuance comapnies feel that giving the MI a lifesaving transplant is a waste of precious resources. But they don't hesitate to harvest organs FROM us, though.

There have been several face transplants on people who have attempted suicide: Katie Stubblefield, Richard Norris, Cameron Underwood, Isabelle Dinoire, Andy Sandness and probably more I don't know of. Considering how rare face transplants are, requiring a face transplant as a result of attempted suicide doesn't seem to be a totally disqualifying factor.

Of course I'd be upset if my face was sanded off. Hell, it upsets me when any part of me gets sanded off.

I am in the US where medical care is a privilege, not a right.
