Re: Student Found Dead in Suicidal Hanging
Her feet were mentioned in some of the social media threads. The reporter I procured the pics from also said that there were concerns brought up about the position of her feet, but that ultimately the police disregarded them since her body had numerous signs of hanging and she had a known history of depression. The reporter was at the scene and I discussed it with him at some length regarding the positioning of the body, etc. He said he didn't see any signs of external violence when they took the noose off and lowered her. He didn't include any photos of her corpse once lowered, but most everything he mentioned noticing at the scene is visible in the images. Finger positioning, noose placement, lack of sphincter control. It's a little difficult to see through her hair, but her tongue is also swollen and protruding. Not visible in the image, but mentioned by the reporter were the ligature mark matching the contours of the noose and the fact that her eyes were partially open and displaying conjunctival petechiae. So yeah, people were worried about her feet, but the evidence for hanging suicide was pretty strong and the family agreed to it. As a side note, her maternal grandfather, to whom she was apparently close, had died 2 weeks earlier and her final Facebook message was a photo of his coffin and the line, "Goodbye, grandpa. We will see each other soon!" |
