This was posted a while back in the hanging thread, but it was b/w and censored, with no antemortems.
As I have since found it uncensored, in hi-res color, and with accompanying antemortems, I decided to give the case its own thread.

This high school student was discovered by family in her bedroom about 30 minutes after last being seen. She had turned her speakers up very loud and closed her door, so they eventually came in to tell her to turn the music down.

When they did so, they discovered that she had attached a rope to an overhead beam, stepped on a small footstool, and then kicked it away with the loud music drowning out the sounds of her death by hanging. There was no note, but family statements indicated that she had suffered from depression for over a year and the police investigation found no signs of foul play. Forensics examination indicated several physical attributes commonly associated with suicidal hanging, so the death was ruled as self-inflicted asphyxia.

Yeah. I dunno what all problems she had, but the fact that her bedroom closely resembles the outdoor shed where we kept the older lawn implements we never used when I was growing up certainly could not help. So many comorbidities for young people seem to crop up with deep poverty as a nexus point. Physical and mental abuse, substance abuse, early sexual activity, teen pregnancy, poor health, no preventative medicine, weak nutrition, poor education...it all stacks up to equal some serious developmental hurdles.

Not that all that shit can't also cause problems for upper middle class white kids in California...but it is seldom surprising to me that the youth suicide rate in the third world dwarves that of developed nations.

And at the end of it all, she winds up half-wrapped in a blanket and tossed on the back of a dirty pickup truck with her new shoes sticking out the bottom. A depressingly short life basically lived for nothing and ended with no dignity or purpose.

its the countryside and it is poor.... she is young and poor, life is full of possibilities. She could hang herself in 10 years if she failed to get a degree, find a good career, or a rich husband.... all options opened to her.... short sighted youth.

Me neither She has a sad gaze in most of her ante mortem photos. I wouldn't be surprised if her living conditions were less than ideal. At least her "room" looks pretty unsanitary.
