In Catu on 16th March 2017, 18 year old Diná Carvalho da Silva was shot dead inside a gym.

2 men arrived on a motorbike. They told everyone to stop what they're doing + put their hands on their heads. The men went over to Diná + fired around 12 shots at her. The gunmen fled the scene.

Diná was apparently an enemy of drug traffickers as she was friendly with police officers in Catu.
