He's not an ass or dickhead .... he needs help! Help to stop thinking and help to teach him how to forget things without using this cutting technique. Maybe when he cuts himself he forgets the memories of his father or uncle or someone raping him as a child. Or maybe it was something different. These people need help .... not to be called names. Just my 2 cents, not knocking anyone's thoughts or how they feel about things.

You are right actually. He's either problematic or plain silly. Some pal of mine and his mates used to cut words on their arms for a laugh and show off. Then there are those who do it as self-harm and don't generally cut "hello"!
