Skull and Decomposing Body.

Bit weird if you ask me......

A skull was found buried in the backyard of a house in the neighborhood of New Israel, in the Northern Zone of Manaus, by two children who were on the spot playing.
A dog smelled strongly of coming from the ground and began to dig with the help of the children.

According to carpenter Ladir dos Santos Pereira, he and his wife usually go to the residence to clean the place and feed the owner's dog.

The children entered the house to warn their grandfather who said they did not believe the story.
"The kids were scared, but we did not think it was true," said the old man.

Police were deployed to unearth the body which, according to the children's grandfather, was buried in a shallow grave wrapped in a sheet and inside a plastic bag.

The body was already in a state of decomposition and, according to the expertise of the Civil Police, had perforations in the chest and back.

The body was referred to the Medical Legal Institute (IML) and the case will be investigated by the Homicide and Kidnapping Office (DEHS).

Re: Skull and Decomposing Body.

Does nobody else find it odd that the head is completely skeletonised yet the body is hardly even decomposed?

Re: Skull and Decomposing Body.

It also looks stripped too. Maybe chemically or something like that.

Flies tend to lay their eggs inside bodily orifices, nose, mouth etc, thus the soft tissue surrounding said orifices is the first to be consumed by larvae. I can imagine that once the maggots start munching, decomposition is hastened. Think I read something to that effect in my forensic pathology book...

It also appears that the facial area was exposed first, probably by a dog, for a period of time before the rest of the body was exhumed. Animals commonly prefer to consume facial tissue first.
