Since it's Brazil you have to factor in the shear amount of psychopaths just roaming the street due to the broken penal system. So could it be drug related? possibly. But it could also be because it was a day that ended in the letter y.

ORRRRR because 90% of crime in Brazil and most of those countries is drug related in some way. Most would be sociopaths not psychopaths.
