Actually it was probably closer to... CRRRRACK!!!!!!!!!

Clint Hill, the Secret Service agent who climbed on to the back of President Kennedy's car during the assassination. Said that he heard a gunshot behind him and instantaneously heard in front of him - ( and these are his words from a interview I recently watched ) - "a loud, yet wet sounding crack, which was obviously the President's skull fracturing after receiving the bullet".

But then again the President's head didn't explode into nothing the way this guys head did. So maybe... "BOOOFFFFF!!!!!!!!!" is closer to the sound his skull made when his brain made a B-line for the exit. There was probably a... SPPPLLLLLAT!!!!!!!!! in there somewhere as well.
