Xiangyang East Station Murder: Woman Found Decapitated, China 2014
Early on August 1, 2014, a woman's body was discovered in grass behind a billboard in the forecourt of Xiangyang East Railway Station, Hubei Province, China. She had been killed and decapitated the previous night, in what Chinese police called the 8-1 murder and dismemberment case. Within roughly a day, authorities arrested a construction worker surnamed Xiong from a worksite beside the station, and prosecutors authorized his formal arrest on August 12. The victim was reported to be a woman in her thirties but was never publicly identified. Social media posts widely alleged that her organs had been removed, but this originated in rumours rather than the police notice or press reports. |
