I think what may have happened here is that he shot himself standing up the bath with a toe on the trigger. Then slid down to this position - I can see possible blood smear marks on the wall behind him from when he slid down. This may explain why we can't see any damaged wall (or ceiling) in the shot. Hmm... this is an odd one...

He's a lot more thoughtful than those who do it in the bedroom. The bathroom is easier to clean. Kudos to him... but maybe next time he should consider going to Aokigahara forest or any other place where no cleaning is required at all.
