I, too, have seen the motorcycle attribution. Evidently he was wearing a helmet... but not a full-face one (obviously!). The info at that time was that he was "alert but sedated" in this photo, that he survived and underwent reconstructive surgery including an artifical jaw. How true that is, I have no idea.

DEFINATE SHOTGUN...I've seen this exact injury in the Emergency Room twice before. Yes he maybe alive. But his life is ruined !. Both people I know of that survived, left the hospital to finish themselves off.
