Ah okay. After I posted that I looked up the phrase that ends with puta madre and apparently it translates to “fucking son of a bitch,” but that blights and grasshoppers is bizarre as hell. Maybe it’s supposed to be curses and cockroaches. Who knows

Cucarachas is the Spanish word for cockroaches. The 'blights and grasshoppers' bit may be a reference to biblical plagues, with the note writer hoping the intended recipients are afflicted by a similar event.
