Seriously Ill Man Ends It All As Last Option
Koh Rong Island, Sihanoukville Province, Cambodia - 5th August 2016. A man hanged himself due suffering from an undisclosed serious medical condition. Suicide for the lower/lowest income people in Cambodia is often the only option to avert pain and suffering in a country with no health care other than traditional Khmer herbal medicine, or prohibitively expensive private hospital care.     ·  ·  · |

"According to a Labor Ministry prakas, or official statement, both employers and employees will be responsible for paying 1.3 percent of an employees’ monthly salary to the government for state-supplied health insurance guaranteed to all workers under the Labor Law. “This prakas determined the rate of contribution and form of payment for healthcare insurance for everyone who is under the provisions of the Labor Law,” Labor Minister Ith Samheng wrote, adding that it had not been decided when the payments will start." Yes there is state provided healthcare. |
