Faust, you need to understand... As a woman, I HATE ISLAM and everything it touches. It is MORE oppressive and brutal than Christianity. The Queran makes it OK to brutalize your wife and children. It makes it OK to rape (temporary marriages), murder family members (honor killings) and display otherwise hateful behavior. There is NOTHING, and I mean NOTHING, I hate more than Islam, except the practitioners. COWARDS! Imagine, so afraid of women that it covers them up under the PRETENCE of MODESTY. |

It's too bad that when our men came home from Vietnam they were treated so badly. They fought and some died for our country, and they didn't get the hero's welcome they were due. For some ignorant reason the anti war protesters took it upon themselves to be self righteous, and blamed our soldiers for the war, which is crazy because they were drafted (as in forced). It was before my time but I think it was horrible the lack of respect that was shown to our hero's.  I appriciate every boy and man that fought for our country. Some made the ultimate sacrifice, and I commend them.  |

Brainplague, I understand, but to me it's more how you think about countries with oppressive governments and without laws. I live in Holland (i am Christian btw), and here we also have Muslims. The women go to the same university as me. And they have jobs, plus they choose to wear a headband or how they call it in English. To me it would be stupid to have anyone call those people cowards, maybe your view is too closed. Also in USA there are muslims like in Holland. Are they cowards? do you hate them also? Do they rape your women? No more than other americans (non muslim) I would guess. But I understand what you are saying. You have not met normal Muslims and your view on them is based on what they show you on TV which happened in some 3rd world country. If your country also did not have laws, people would also rape the women. People are doing it right now as we speak! And this is in America, where you have to go to jail if you rape a person. It does not have anything to do with religion. |

WRONG It is a BIG problem here in the UK, there are MANY shelters for Muslim women and children in this country for EXACTLY all the reasons brainplague mentions below. Faust - thank you for your understanding. However, my view is not from TV. It's from personal experience. My sister was married to a Muslim Palistinian 10 years. He got a job in Iraq and they lived there for the last 4 years of their marriage. One fine day, she stepped out of the housing compound chasing her dog that had gotten out. The "religious" police caught her, and beat the shit out of her for forgetting to put on her burka and niqab. You know what they did to her? Broken ribs, jaw and skull fracture. Not to mention the emotional terror that went with it. Then her husband beat her again when she was released from hospital. It took my family 3 YEARS to get her out of there. You know why, BECAUSE HER HUSBAND WOULDN'T GIVE HER PERMISSION! Now, do you see why I wouldn't mind if these people fell off of the face of the Earth? |

No, they are not. Women beat men and children, too. However, it's a much rarer thing. There is help for victims of abuse here in the US. For my sister, there was none. My eyes are open. Wide Open. I just happen to be one of the most bull-headed people you will ever meet! LOL As we say in America, we will just have to agree to disagree. |

There are 80 million Christian Evangelicals in America that are just as fanatical. I can understand how you would be sickened, like I am, by the way Extremist Muslims treat women. But at the same time, there are many Muslims who are not that way. If the world judged all Christians by the way a few acted, it would not be fair. You can't just lump millions of people into the same category, it reeks of ignorance. |

umm... temporary marriages=rape? please enlighten us with the passage you're citing. you sort of sound like a bigoted Islamophobe/xenophobe. Take a class on religion, it would do you a lot of good. it would be better for you to express your unhappiness with ALL extremists. I hope one day you'll be able to separate extremist sects from the religion they claim to be protecting but are, in fact, destroying. |
