Re: Romanian Murder Mystery
Vedderman...Thanks for the excellent post. It is nice to know some of the background story on these photos. I wish more poeple would do that if background info is available. (Which I know is not usually the case) I know translation can be a pain, because I've done a little of it. I (and other readers) certainly appreciate your work in putting this up.

Re: Romanian Murder Mystery
i know its too late. i am from romania and after reading the og source unfortunately its not that big of a mystery. first of all his supposed girl on the side was from another city and mostly part of his past not future. only one instance she was brought there by him but the wife forgave him somehow. regarding the lack of DNA ... prosecutors didnt demand testing at all.... honestly they did everything to not solve this. regarding the cigarette butts. she intensified smoking recently since they were arguing all day. it was off season and no activity at the villa. so they may have smoked together that night. her lady friend thinks he struck her with that bottles on the floor which gained weight as improvised ashtrays. i suspect he just bruised her badly and left. after that she got so mad and asphixiated herself in a manner she hoped getting revenge by incriminating him. here lies a bit of a mystery. if he did all of that or just the initial beating vicious nonetheless. he was acquitted twice. then ran to HK. apparently in Romania there is no double jeopardy. a 3rd trial sentenced him to 25 years. but in 2007 after 1 year a death certificate from Guyana??? appeared and thats it. he wont be searched for anymore i am sure he is alive. the victims father saw that certificate and said it looked authentic. what can he do... i think he regrets setting up his daughter with a known violent man. from what i gather police in my country rely solely on poligraph hoping that the person cracks. if not then good luck. when a family member is involved its difficult to convict since DNA can not be used against the murderer. only a witness can change the course but i think people are tired of making police work easy. i never heard of that guys father but he came up with enough money to keep him unharmed while being imprisoned initially and that death certificate plus renowned experts for court. he was the equivalent of a congressman while the girls father was just the mayor of a small town

Re: Romanian Murder Mystery
Thanks for your informed and considered interpretation. It has been many years since I researched this case, but I appreciate your input. Always nice to get a better explanation of things. It was a lot of work to research and translate all of the information and I often wondered how much of the story I missed. I did a few other cases from Romania around the same time, but most of them were suicides of women or teen girls and didn't have much mystery to them, though I recall that one or two of them might have. I'll see if I can find them and bring them to your attention. |

Re: Romanian Murder Mystery
Fascinating story Vedderman sad nobody will be brought to justice for her death but my opinion is he had a hit out on her seems most likely option as yes they could have gotten divorced but maybe out of fear of upsetting both families he thought murder was easier |
