Cambodia News (Siem Reap): A 73-year-old Portuguese man, DIAS AGUIAR BRAVO VITOR MANUEL, passed away on August 25, 2020, in a rented house where he lived with his Cambodian wife in Sangkat Svay Dong Kom, Siem Reap.

According to the autopsist, Dr. Eth Chobcharoth, the deceased died from diabetes. After the examination, the body was returned to the family for funeral preparation following the request from the embassy.

Siem Reap: On the morning of August 25, 2020, at a rented room in Taphul village, Svay Dangkum commune, Siem Reap city / province, a foreigner fell asleep.

The victim was DIAS AGUIAR BRAVO VITOR MANUEL, male, born on 17-08-1947, Portuguese, retired, living in a rented room.

Based on the research of the competent experts and Dr. Ith Chhorath, a medical examiner, concluded that the victim died of diabetes, chronic high blood pressure, causing high blood pressure, decreased heart rate and breathing.

After checking and making notes, the authorities handed over the body to his wife to prepare for cremation at the request of the embassy.

The case of the Portuguese sleeping dead happened at 7:00 AM on August 25, 2020 at a rented room in Phum Ta Phul, Sangkat Svay Dangkum, Siem Reap City, Siem Reap Province.

Colonel Nop Sarak, Siem Reap City Police Inspector, said that the victim was DIAS AGUIAR BRAVO VITOR MANUEL, male, born on August 17, 1947, a Portuguese national holding a letter. Crossing border number C420930, retired, living in a rented room at the time of the incident and having a Cambodian wife.

He added that according to Dr. Ith Chhorath, a medical examiner, the victim had died of diabetes and chronic high blood pressure. High blood pressure, decreased heart rate and breathing.

The deceased was named BOB HARJANTO, male, Indonesian, born on October 4, 1992, Occupation: Golden staff, passport valid until November 30, 2023. Visa No. EEX 1900105606 is valid until August 2, 2021.

The authorities say that the deceased died of AIDS. The body was taken to the Referral Hospital in Sihanoukville, waiting for a decision from the embassy and family. RIP.

It'd be an interesting scene, a bunch of mourners scattered dead around the coffins, if anyone could find uncensored pics. But I'm giving up.

The holiday of two young Portuguese sisters ended in tragedy when one of them went to the roof of their hostel in Bangkok and jumped. Her body was found on Sunday morning.

Pol Lt Supachai Hankamla, a deputy investigation inspector at Bang Rak Police Station, was informed that a young female tourist had died between 07:45 and 08:00 on Sunday morning. The incident happened at the Loftel Station Hostel on Rama IV Rd, close to Bangkok’s central railway station, Hua Lamphong, in Maha Phruttharam: subdistrict of Bang Rak.

Police officers and rescue volunteers from the Ruam Katanyu Foundation arrived at the scene shortly after receiving the call. An employee at the hostel led the officers to a narrow alley where a barbed wire wall separated the hostel from an abandoned building.
Pol Lt Supachai described the scene for reporters of the Thai-language news website, Khaosod Online. “The body of the woman was entangled in a barbed-wire fence and was hanging about half a metre above the ground. She was found wearing her pyjamas, the top of which had got stuck on the razor fence next to an abandoned building”, said Pol Lt Supachai.

Police later identified the deceased as Vera Rijo Maceiras: a young woman from Portugal who had turned 27 just four days earlier. She and her sister had been on vacation in Bangkok, both staying in the same room on the 3rd floor of the hostel.

A medical examiner from Police General Hospital briefly examined the body and found a deep wound on her left leg caused by the barbed wire which had severed an artery causing her to bleed out. Ms Maceiras died from exsanguination according to a police statement.

A video of Ms Maceiras’s body showed that she was wearing a grey top and pink shorts at the time of her death: both had been torn to pieces by the sharp barbed wire she finally landed on. The police are currently investigating how she came to be found in the location she was found: 15 metres below her room and approximately 4 metres to the right of where she is thought to have fallen.

They are considering a theory that she may have plunged from roof accidentally after climbing out of a window in order to practice some early morning yoga
After viewing CCTV as part of their investigation into Ms Maceiras’s death, police later stated. “She appears to have left her room around 5am in the morning and gone up to the rooftop on the 5th floor to practise yoga on a narrow ledge,” Pol Lt Supachai revealed. “After a while, we can see her climb over the barrier and fall off the building edge.”

Rescue volunteers have taken Ms Maceiras’s body to the Police General Hospital where an autopsy will determine the official cause of death. Pol Lt Supachai confirmed that the Portuguese Embassy in Bangkok had been notified of the young woman’s tragic death.
