It would be great if other members join in + post here.

I've been thinking about a thread like this for quite some time. There's so many times that I've had to discard a good story through lack of uncensored images + it's always a pain when hours of searching has been done. A lot of the time, I have so many other stories to research, that I just don't have the time to keep to just one.

So, this thread is for members to post what they've found but are not able to (or don't have the time to) find additional info/photos/videos. Another member can then take over + then make a thread if + when they have enough to warrant one.

The holiday of two young Portuguese sisters ended in tragedy when one of them went to the roof of their hostel in Bangkok and jumped. Her body was found on Sunday morning.

Pol Lt Supachai Hankamla, a deputy investigation inspector at Bang Rak Police Station, was informed that a young female tourist had died between 07:45 and 08:00 on Sunday morning. The incident happened at the Loftel Station Hostel on Rama IV Rd, close to Bangkok’s central railway station, Hua Lamphong, in Maha Phruttharam: subdistrict of Bang Rak.

Police officers and rescue volunteers from the Ruam Katanyu Foundation arrived at the scene shortly after receiving the call. An employee at the hostel led the officers to a narrow alley where a barbed wire wall separated the hostel from an abandoned building.
Pol Lt Supachai described the scene for reporters of the Thai-language news website, Khaosod Online. “The body of the woman was entangled in a barbed-wire fence and was hanging about half a metre above the ground. She was found wearing her pyjamas, the top of which had got stuck on the razor fence next to an abandoned building”, said Pol Lt Supachai.

Police later identified the deceased as Vera Rijo Maceiras: a young woman from Portugal who had turned 27 just four days earlier. She and her sister had been on vacation in Bangkok, both staying in the same room on the 3rd floor of the hostel.

A medical examiner from Police General Hospital briefly examined the body and found a deep wound on her left leg caused by the barbed wire which had severed an artery causing her to bleed out. Ms Maceiras died from exsanguination according to a police statement.

A video of Ms Maceiras’s body showed that she was wearing a grey top and pink shorts at the time of her death: both had been torn to pieces by the sharp barbed wire she finally landed on. The police are currently investigating how she came to be found in the location she was found: 15 metres below her room and approximately 4 metres to the right of where she is thought to have fallen.

They are considering a theory that she may have plunged from roof accidentally after climbing out of a window in order to practice some early morning yoga
After viewing CCTV as part of their investigation into Ms Maceiras’s death, police later stated. “She appears to have left her room around 5am in the morning and gone up to the rooftop on the 5th floor to practise yoga on a narrow ledge,” Pol Lt Supachai revealed. “After a while, we can see her climb over the barrier and fall off the building edge.”

Rescue volunteers have taken Ms Maceiras’s body to the Police General Hospital where an autopsy will determine the official cause of death. Pol Lt Supachai confirmed that the Portuguese Embassy in Bangkok had been notified of the young woman’s tragic death.

Re: Post Your Incomplete/abandoned Research Here

Awesome idea! I should have posted a lot but I always seem to fail to "complete the set".

This is one of the examples. An unknown drowned female tourist in Koh Chang. Case is around March 27 iirc.

Re: Post Your Incomplete/abandoned Research Here

Police are investigating the death of an elderly American couple in Chiang Mai. The two foreigners were found dead in a hotel with plastic bags around their heads hooked up to balloons filled with helium in what police believe to be a well-thought-out double-suicide.

Pol Lt Col Mana Sukjaroen, who leads the investigation, said he was notified of the incident at 12:20 on Thursday. The report came after a room maid at the Top North Hotel on Moon Muang Rd near Tha Phae Gate in Chiang Mai’s Phra Singh subdistrict discovered the bodies of James Lewis Hamilton, 75, and his 70-year-old wife Diane Adele De Simone.

Investigators interviewed the manager of the hotel, Pricha Maijandaeng. According to him, Mr Hamilton and Mrs De Simone, who had been staying in the hotel since April 13, were due to check-out on the day their bodies were found.

“Mr Pricha told us that he called the phone in room no. 3207 on the 2nd floor where the two were staying after they did not check-out at 12:00,” Pol Lt Col Mana said. “However, nobody picked up, so Mr Pricha asked a maid to go to their room.”

After the maid’s knocks on the door also remained unanswered, she reportedly attempted to gain access to the room by using a spare key. As she opened the door, she found a piece of paper attached to a hanger reading “DO NOT ENTER – CALL POLICE”. She then found the lifeless bodies of Mr Hamilton and Mrs De Simone on the bed inside the room.

An initial police report states that both foreigners had plastic bags wrapped around their heads which were connected by a thin hose to a balloon filled with gas from a tank in the room. The valve of the 40-litre-tank, which police say most likely contained helium, was fully opened and the content already empty, leading police to conclude that the couple had committed suicide and died of inert gas asphyxiation.

Forensic police briefly examined the bodies on the scene and said they were in full rigor mortis and therefore have been dead for at least 12 hours. They were dressed wearing white t-shirts and grey shorts. Both of them wore diapers, the police report stated. A note with contact information was also found in the room.

“All the preparations they have made make it look like a well-thought-out double-suicide,” Pol Lt Col Mana interpreted the scene. The maid said that the two guests were a jolly couple and gave no indication they were going to commit suicide. Three days before the incident, they had greeted her in a friendly manner and asked not to be disturbed, police revealed.

Mr Hamilton and his wife had been living in Thailand for over 15 years. After spending most of that time on Koh Samui in Surat Thani province, the couple moved to an elderly care facility in Chiang Mai in 2018. Mrs De Simone was an author and wrote several books, including the 2013 published book “Dear Thailand: A Love Story”.

Volunteers of the Ruam Jai Chiang Mai Rescue Foundation took the bodies of Mr Hamilton and Mrs De Simone to Maharaj Nakorn Chiang Mai Hospital where a post-mortem examination will be conducted. The American authorities in Chiang Mai have been informed, police confirmed.

Re: Post Your Incomplete/abandoned Research Here

January 17, 2018

28 year old Sirja Ida Sofia Konttila

Police in Phuket have yet to determine the cause of death of a young stewardess from Finland. The woman was found dead in her hotel room on Wednesday morning.

Housekeeping staff of a hotel in Phuket’s Sa Khu subdistrict made the discovery after she had entered the room at about 10:45 to clean it and found the woman unconscious in front of the bathroom. “I thought she had just fainted,” the maid told police later. “So I asked a co-worker to help to carry her to the bed.”

What the two did not know at this point: The woman was already dead. “The maids called the rescue service who, when they arrived and found out that she had died, informed us at around 11:00,” Pol Lt Junat Suwonranin told journalists. The deputy investigator who serves at Sa Khu Provincial Police Station was assigned to the case.

“When we arrived, hotel staff led us to room no. 4011 where the woman had been staying,” Pol Lt Junat said. “We found her laying on the bed on her side. Apart from a bed sheet covering her waist, she only wore a black top. The rest of her body was naked.”

A medical examiner briefly inspected the body but could not find any visible injuries or signs of violence. The room was tidy and did not show anything unsuspicious, leading Pol Lt Junat to assume that the young woman was unlikely a victim of a crime. However, police found vomit in a bin which might indicate a serious health condition.

After going through her personal belongings, police learned the identity of the dead woman. Sirja Ida Sofia Konttila was a 28-year-old from Salo, Finland. Her profile on Facebook showed that worked as a stewardess for Thomas Cook Airlines Scandinavia. According to the flight history on planefinder.net, Ms Konttila had arrived in Phuket on January 15 at 16:30 via the flight DK2532 from Helsinki to Phuket.

Police spoke to some of the staff of the hotel who said the eleven-person flight crew had booked the hotel from January 15 to January 19. Asking other crew members of DK2532, police learned that Ms Konttila spent the night before drinking champagne with five Finnish friends before she went back to her room.

“At this point, the cause of death is still unknown,” Pol Lt Junat admitted. While rescue workers of the Kusoldharm Phuket Foundation transported the body to the Forensic Laboratory at Surat Thani Hospital for a thorough post-mortem examination, Sa Khu continued their investigation. “We will interview the entire hotel staff and check the CCTV footage for evidence,” lead investigator Pol Lt Junat said.

Sirja Ida Sofia Konttila, 27, was found dead at a hotel near Phuket Airport last Wednesday (Jan 17). Photo:

Chief of Sakoo Police Col Teerasak Siamsak told The Phuket News today (Jan 25), “Police decided to send the body of Sirja Ida Sofia Konttila (27) for an autopsy at Songkhlanakarind Hospital in Hat Yai because it was suspicious, as there were no marks on the body, nor signs of trauma on the head.

“The autopsy results are not yet out, it will take over a month,” he said. “She was found in the bedroom, not in the bathroom, and had no signs of trauma on her head. So I am not sure if it’s likely she slipped and hit her head. Again, we are waiting for results,” he reiterated. “Her relatives have already picked up the body (from Hat Yai) and may have taken it back to Finland,” he added. Lt Jullaus Suwannin, who headed the case, also spoke to The Phuket News today (Jan 25), saying it was possible that she had an unknown medical condition.

“Police sent the body for an autopsy as is standard procedure when a death is suspicious. After speaking to her relatives, they also wanted to know if it was possible that she may have had a medical condition,” said Lt Jullaus. “They wanted to know what happened,” he added.

Ms Kontilla from Solo, Finland was found unconscious on the floor in front of the bedroom last week by a hotel maid, Lt Jullaus said. “A hotel maid said that when she entered the room, she found the Finnish woman unconscious on the floor in front of the bathroom door. “The maid ran out to get other hotel staff to help lift the woman onto the bed. That’s when they discovered that she had died,” he added.

PHUKET: The body of a German tourist was found hanging from a tree on Phi Phi Island yesterday.

K.R., 26, was found on the secluded Ao Por Beach, on the southeastern tip of Phi Phi Don, at about 5pm by local fishermen, who then notified police.

“K.R. had been dead for about one hour before she was found,” said Maj Sakesan Boonlerd of the Phi Phi Island Police.

“We found a letter tucked into her shirt that was written in German. We are keeping the letter as evidence and are having it translated, as we believe it may give us clues about her death.”

K.R.’s body was transferred to Krabi Hospital for further examination today at about 11:30am.

“Doctors will confirm the cause of death while we continue our investigation,” said Maj Sakesan. “We have yet to rule out foul play.”

K.R.’s relatives have been notified of her death, he added.
