Re: Positional Asphyxia in Opioid‐Related Deaths

Am I the only one who have zero sympathy for drug users ?
Definitely not. But perhaps it hasn't hit home for you. Your beliefs may change if your spouse, child, or best friend becomes an addict. Addiction doesn't discriminate in any shape or form. It can happen to anyone. And not every drug addict is a hopeless case or a piece of shit. Many are, but many are not.

Re: Positional Asphyxia in Opioid‐Related Deaths

All my friends are dead because of drugs.

I found my buddy dead and blue. Pretty sure he did it on purpose. He was always saying that’s how he’d do it.

Fuck drugs I’m over it.

Certain drugs grab ahold of you and can kill you.
Non drug users may not understand unless it snatches them up.
Tobacco was my drug of choice (smokeless snuff) for 30 years. As a birthday gift to myself, I kicked the habit 2015. So I understand somewhat.

No, it can only happen to crazy peoples who decided to put deadly chemicals into their bodies to get some pleasure.
Addiction can starts from 1st event but not before.

Not always. Not everyone who takes a pain pill or snorts a line of coke now and then becomes an addict. But if something makes you feel good and helps you temporarily forget your problems, most people become addicted to something because of that. It’s very much a psychological thing as well.

It can happen to women and men who have been raped, or abused as children, any deep emotional and psychological trauma. Consider yourself lucky that you are so privileged that you cannot possibly understand the intense trauma and devastation that can lead to someone being desperate to feel some sense of happiness, just for once in their lives. You come from a self-righteous position of clueless ignorance. I've never used drugs, but I've seen victims of child sexual abuse succumb to it. You truly have no idea what you're talking about.

When I see that "hermantheshocker" has posted something, I go right to it. I'll bet there are several others on here that do the same.

Re: Positional Asphyxia in Opioid‐Related Deaths

No worries. Kratom saved my life. And it’s not anywhere near addictive as the opiates it’s used to get off of. I would liken the addictive traits to be similar to coffee. It’s not even as bad as cigarettes. Comparatively speaking it’s a cakewalk. Lol

I had no side effects. It takes away withdrawal symptoms and curbs cravings without any kind of high. I first found it in 2007 to get off opiates from back problems. In 2015 I had spinal fusion surgery but was on painkillers for 6 months prior and a month after. I relied on kratom then too to come off the pain killers. It was pretty easy to stop over a period of time. Imo the alternatives are not an option. Suboxone and methadone are far worse option for opiate addiction treatment.

Also, I haven’t researched it very much lately but many of reported deaths where kratom is mentioned could not be specifically tied to kratom. There were other, much more deadly substances or situations that caused the death. Some just tied kratom to those deaths because they found it in their system. The powers that be just want to control it like they control everything else. It's scare tactics.

It’s a natural dried leaf that has been proven to help with opiate withdrawals... it should REPLACE methadone and suboxone, but the pharmaceutical industry and the government do not want that. And if it ever does become widely used option, we won't be able to have open legal access to it on the internet or local shops. You'll have to have a prescription for it which would be detrimental for the person that needs it. The government will want to regulate that shit too. lol When I discovered it in 2007, the only two places in the WORLD it was illegal was Malaysia (where most of it originates) and Australia. Now it's many more places where it's completely illegal or heavily regulated.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mitrag...osa#Regulation

For me it’s a miracle herb. For myself, a few friends and one sibling. I do respect your opinion, but I’ve had NOTHING but positive results with kratom. It was a lifesaver for me.
Glad you got off of opiates with it. I'm careful not to assert anything just from reading a publication or simple hear-say. I too travelled that dark road with opiates. I mean dark. All under a team of Doctors' care... Imagine that. I found my way. With Kratom, I did say a lesser evil. That's only because I don't know of anyone who's stepped away from it... Only to go back to what they can get their hands on.. Of Those 2 alternatives, I do tend to agree with you... One is a cleaner trade off.. (just about the only thing that helped my Mothers cancer pain, her last several days in hospice was methadone). The other if used correctly-super easy to get off regular opiates... But super hard to get off of itself. What a brilliant concept

Re: Positional Asphyxia in Opioid‐Related Deaths

I say this with respect, I would caution anyone contemplating the use of Kratom. It may possibly "work" to get you off of other opiates.. but its just trading one evil for another imo. Not illegal (yet). But it's addictive, and has caused plenty of deaths *(Post et al, 2019. Clinical Toxicology).
Yeah, I haven't tried it, I'm a cannabis gal, but it's illegal where I am. Kratom isn't as well known/researched and I'm on a few psych meds so I wanna be careful.
