PHILIPPINES - On November 21, 2019, Police Lieutenant Colonel J.P.Y. was shot to death by J.M., who later later killed by police on September 28 the following year. He was laid to rest on November 30, 2019 in Jimenez, Jimenez, Misamis Occidental. I was able to find a Tagalog post, so here's the translation.

CEBU CITY - Police Lieutenant Colonel J.Y. was killed after being ambushed by assailants on a motorcycle at Sitio Molave in Barangay Kamputhaw, Cebu City at around 6 PM last Thursday [November 21, 2019].

According to witnesses, J.Y. was walking at that place, along with his wife, when he was shot by assailants.

The police officer was trying to survive, but he died when he arrived at the hospital.

According to chief of Police Station 2 of Cebu City Police Office Major Elisandro Quijano, J.Y. attended a function and hearing regarding a case involving illegal drugs in Cebu City.

J.Y. was formerly assigned as chief of Provincial Intelligence Branch or S-2 of Cebu Provincial Police Office.

He also became a spokesperson of Bohol Provincial Police Office, and he was designated at Internal Affairs Services at Camp Crame.

Police are continuing their investigation regarding the motive for the killing of J.Y.

Police will review the CCTV near the crime scene that will help in their investigation.

What an elaborate send off. Who expends the energy to create such floral displays, pictures, lit candles etc ? I think the family, and all while grieving.
