There was a time when crocs and bull sharks consumed the bodies very quickly. Now the declining population of both species in the area due to poaching and habitat pollution (thanks to DOW chemical among others) has created many problems this being one of them. You could say the river stinks of death, but to be honest you don't notice it any more at the river than you do at the air port.
