Friend's father PLEADED with my sister so she wouldn't visit India. He emigrated to USA in 1950s from Delhi and said India was too dangerous. Sister went anyway, and left early for Thailand cause India was so nasty. Peace Corps is the worst, they send unsophisticated young people to shitholes like Africa, they get tropical disease and die, or attacked by natives, sunburn ect.  · |

India is one of those places everyone I know wants to visit some day, but I do not. I can't separate the thought of the country from the thought of filth and disease, and I don't do this with other countries, even other third world countries. Coupled with the traffic and overpopulation, it does NOT appeal to me.
