OK thank you, first I heard of that and I've seen the video posted on a couple different forums.

So the guy in that youtube video was misidentified as the shooter through one of his photos (he does closely resemble the shooter) so he thought it would be fun to jump head first and inject himself into the attempted assassination of one of the most famous people in the world. Gotcha, that is a trip

I remember there was another guy misidentified as the shooter shortly after it happened, his picture was everywhere. Chubby looking guy with black hair and a bit of a stache & goat, wearing Aviator sunglasses. Might have went by the name Garcia but can't remember 100%. I wonder why his picture got posted as the shooter?

For those who are still debating the shooter's politics, people that know him have finished the story:

Former student Max R. Smith remembered Crooks as an intelligent classmate with conservative political leanings. Smith recalled participating in a mock debate in a course they took together, where their teacher posed questions on government policy and had students stand on opposite sides of the classroom to signal their support or opposition.

“The majority of the class were on the liberal side, but Tom, no matter what, always stood his ground on the conservative side,” Smith said. “That’s still the picture I have of him. Just standing alone on one side while the rest of the class was on the other. ... It makes me wonder why he would carry out an assassination attempt on the conservative candidate.”

It seems odd, but shooters can have bizarre reasons for their actions. It could have been a dramatic suicide, or someone who wanted infamy. But the debate about his political views is over.

My only other speculation is this is the age where schizophrenia becomes apparent. But it is all speculation.

I don't know. I haven't seen that video before, but police are saying he had virtually no social media presence they can find, so I'm skeptical that the account bearing his name is real. It also is odd he's in the video, meaning what authorities describe as a loner would have had a friend film the scene.
